Teachers in Atlanta Georgia, Zebulon GA, Gig Harbor Washington and
Aberdeen WA have received Teachers Rock! Awards!
Teachers are among our most important of people.
They are literally shaping the minds of tomorrow; a task not easily
comprehended, and often not appreciated. Teachers have one of the
most DIFFICULT jobs on the planet; Good teachers take on the tough
conditions of a classroom with grace, giving their students the proper
tools to survive in the world.
7 Sharp 9 celebrates teachers by launching the Teachers
Rock! Fund. The band formed TRF in memory of lead singer Chris
Wold’s mother, Mary Wold. Mary was a math teacher of 30 years, and
loved her job.Grants awarded by 7 Sharp 9's Teachers Rock! Fund are meant for
teachers like Mary-teachers who do the job not for the money, but for
the satisfaction received by helping students.
The band will collect funds through merchandise sales (for
every 7 Sharp 9 CD sold the band will donate $1 to the cause, and ALL
profit from their Teacher's Rock! T-Shirts will go to the fund).
Grants will be given to teachers for professional development projects
of their choosing, or for classroom projects or activities to enhance
their student's learning experience. Or they can do whatever they want
with the money; bar tab, movies, dinner, tank of gas...
7 Sharp 9 will disperse funds in 2 ways:
Have 7 Sharp 9 perform at your school. During
the show the band will give a Teachers Rock! Award to a teacher from
your school. Students will be asked to nominate teachers,
explaining why they are deserving of the award. For more
information send an email to:
teachersrock@sevensharpnine.com.
On the local front (Atlanta, GA), the band will throw
parties in honor of teachers:
Teachers get great drink specials (because they
party harder than anyone).
Teachers are eligible for cash drawings and bar
tab giveaways.
The main goal of Teachers Rock! is to show some
appreciation to our educators. They deserve so much-we're hoping
the cause catches on and we're able to put smiles on as many teachers as
possible. Spread the word!
